Private landlords act socially and are happy

Private single tenants include around two thirds of all rental apartments in Germany and they do not correspond to the usual rental cliché.

Tenants of private individual landlords are according to a recent study “very satisfied” and “satisfied” and thus better off, as a tenant cooperative, municipal and professional landlord. The private individual landlords are also satisfied. Three-quarters of private individual landlords have answered in the affirmative whether they are satisfied with their tenants. Only 1.3 percent are not happy with the current tenants.

In addition, private individual landlords are attracted by their rent increase behavior. More than 22 percent only increase the rent when the tenant changes. However, this number decreases continuously. The tenancy policy of the past few years increasingly urges the private individual landlord to increase the rent even in current tenancy.
