Housing companies stop investing in Berlin because of the planned rental freeze

According to a recent survey by a professional association of medium-sized housing companies in Berlin-Brandenburg, many companies are currently relocating their construction activities from Berlin to Brandenburg as a reaction to the rent cover debate.

For example, 72% of the almost 60 housing companies involved stopped planned investments. 59% stopped renovations and 61% renovations to residential buildings. 1/3 of the companies have rescheduled current investments. For example, condominiums are being built instead of rented apartments.

According to a survey, 41% of businesses are already relocating their construction activities to Brandenburg and 34% of companies would rather invest in other federal states.
